You'll be beaming from head to toe with professional even color. Exfoliation is recommended and required for effective even treatment and results. Disposable bras and panties are provided for a comfortable application process. Questions & Answers: How long will my tan last? Your tan/color can last as long as a natural sun tan - about 5 to 7 days. The natural color appearance is because we use a solution that works with your own pigment. We use enough in one application to thoroughly activate your own pigment and provide a long lasting glow. Visit us every week to stay sun-kissed all year long! How long will the airbrushing take? We spend approximately 30 minutes to spray each individual. Length of spray times depend on how dark you would like to be, how long you want your tan to last and how large the spray surface area (size of individual). How does it work? Our particular tanning method is a dual process. The solution sprayed on your skin contains both a bronzer and a skin pigment activator. The bronzer allows our practitioner to apply a perfect application because the color shows where we have (or have not) been. The pigment activators sit and work on the skin for up to 6 hours after application. After 6 hours you can shower which is when the bronzer will rinse off - and your true (own) bronzed color will show underneath - a beautiful healthy bronzed glow that you will stay with you for an entire week! Will I get color even if I do not naturally tan in the Sun? Yes. The bronzer is the same color on everyone. The pigment activator works on all skin types whether you are able to tan naturally or not. We have had a 100% satisfaction rate regarding the tone/pigment of the color from all of our clients who have had this service with our special formulation solution. Will the tan look fake? No. The solution works with your own pigment which is your own natural skin tones. You will have this is the natural appearing color for up to a week. However, the bronzer applied and remains on the skin for the for the first 6 hours could look "fake" because the bronzer is one color for everyone. Some people look natural in a bronzer - some do not. Please do not make "special plans" for six hours after application until you are able to shower off the bronzer. Is there anything I can do for the best color possible? Yes. The following directions are important for the best tan possible: Discontinue the use of acne treatment products at least one week prior to service (i.e. Retin A, Differen, spot treatments, etc.). Using these products immediately before or after your tan could compromise the evenness and color. Wax or shave prior to your tanning treatment. Because waxing/shaving naturally exfoliates you will loose some of your color if and when you do this after the application. If you are seeking a manicure/pedicure in addition to your tan - please have your nails done prior to the appointment. Any type of exfoliating or soaking after your tan will "wear" the tan and you risk the potential of making it appear uneven to the other tanned areas of your body. If you must have your nails done after your appointment - opt for a simple polish change without soaks, etc. Shower and exfoliate 24 hours prior to your service. Exfoliation will give you a deeper, longer lasting tan. If you shower within hours of your appointment you could negatively effect the ph of your skin or rate of solution absorption. Wear dark loose clothing to your appointment. No shoulder bags, hats, glasses or other items that could rub excessively and unnecessarily against the skin. Do not plan anything "special" immediately after your appointment. You will be covered in bronzer until you shower this off about 6+ hours after your appointment time. Making dinner plans, meeting friends, going to Fenway is ill advised. Bring an umbrella if it appears to rain. Walking in the rain would be the same as showering right after your appointment if you are not properly prepared. Shower about 6 hours or more after your appointment. This will wash off the bronzer and prevent unnecessary staining to clothing or other items. The bronzer could stain clothing so we recommend to wash or bleach any discolored items immediately (wear dark clothing and there will be nothing to worry about). Keeping the solution on longer than six hours will not provide a greater benefit. Brides must come in for a "test-run" at least 10+ days prior to the wedding date. All spray sessions are $75 each regardless of the amount applied or for particular purpose. When can I get an appointment? We are open 7 days a week but airbrush services are typically not available on Saturdays or Holidays. Please keep in mind whenever you do schedule that you will have six hours of set time so please plan accordingly - evening appointments may "sleep" in their tan although dark sheets are highly recommended. What else can I do or should I need to know? It is important to know that we are "tanning" dead skin cells, so, it is important to have well moisturized and hydrated skin. The majority of moisturizers have an exfoliant in them so that the moisturizer can penetrate more deeply to do it's job. This is the exact opposite of what is needed for AirBrushing. Spa Newbury offers an exfoliant free UltraRich Cream which is recommended prior to the Airbrush tan, and for every day after the tan to help keep it last longer and wear more evenly.
